Perhaps the dilemma that minority art falls into either innately (?) or inevitably.
2032 Angels in America is a spin-off of Lee Hong-do's Autobiography (My Playwright Life) and is set in the Korean theatr scene in the 2030s, when queer performances had become the most popular genre. This performance also consists of citations to the following three publications that are out of print:
『An Analysis of Homosexuality in Angels in America for a Politically Correct and Intelligent Cisgender Heterosexual Audience』
『Ending the Infectious Disease Bible in One Book: From HIV/AIDS to COVID-19』
『Guide to Queer Theatre Production for National and Public Theatres』
Centre and periphery, mainstream and non-mainstream, real and fake, party and minority, cultural power and struggle for recognition.
Once my teacher told me that when there are two people gathered together it becomes a society. He read it in some book or something. Well then…when my neighbours Kab甲 from opposite me and my neighbours Eul乙 from next door were playing together, I thought their society might be a little boring for me so I joined them with cookies I baked and they said they wanted to play the Kab-Eul game by themselves and if they left me out I would be bored and lonely and no one would play Catch-mind with me and no one would listen to me. So I looked into mirrors here and there and, Ah, I’m not alone.
And so, in this way, Bjung丙 like people will talk Bjung丙 stuff in a Bjung丙 way.
