I am invisible.
Being treated as invisible.
It's like being invisible.
Written in the wake of the 'Sagamihara Disability Facility Killing Incident' that occurred in Japan in 2016, The Question of Faeries deals with objects of discrimination and hatred in modern Japanese society - the beings that people do not want to see or pretend not to see. It relativizes extremely "human" issues such as appearance, eugenics and prenatal diagnosis from the perspective of non-human beings, such as mutant cockroaches and symbiotic bacteria, raising radical questions about human life and sex.
